About the project

The Parish Council of Västra Torsås wants to strengthen knowledge in the community about how local raw materials can be utilized and processed. By organizing practical meetings where participants together learn, for example, fermentation, dairy production, and juice pressing, both knowledge and community are created.

The project is based on people meeting, sharing experiences, and getting to know each other while developing practical skills in local food processing. The initiative contributes to increased self-sufficiency, better resource utilization, and a stronger local network. After the project, the work continues through ongoing contact between participants and recurring activities in the community.

This project has received one of our micro grants. These are our smaller grants that are easier to apply for and quicker to obtain. The Rusta Bygden fund is intended for associations and local groups that want to realize ideas that make their community more sustainable and resilient.
