Championship in climbing
in Värnamo

This project is a sub-activity within the micro-support ”Up to us!”.

About the project

A group of young girls who climb together in Värnamo want to organize a climbing competition so that more children and young people can try the sport and be inspired to start climbing. In order for the competition to take place, new climbing holds are needed, especially for speed climbing, as the current holds are not sufficient. The project is seeking support to purchase these holds as well as cover costs for venue rental and food for volunteers. The competition is planned as an open event with several classes and opportunities for the curious to try it out. The holds will also be used in the club's activities after the competition, providing long-term benefits.

About Up to us!

Micro-support is a smaller sum of money that is easier to apply for and quicker to get a response on. Up to us! is our special support for those aged 13-25 who, either individually or within their association, want to try something new and contribute to a more attractive countryside for other young people.

The activity offers a fun and open event that welcomes everyone to try climbing, encourages movement, and can become a recurring feature. The idea is clear, the equipment can be reused in training and future competitions, and the project creates community and inspires young people to find new interests.
