Lorcana in the community

This project is a sub-activity within the micro-support ”Up to us!”.

About the project

An initiative from young people in Ljungby Nördkultur who want to create more social meeting places through card and board game culture. With two open game days and tournaments in the card game Disney Lorcana, children and young people had the opportunity to try out and find new communities. To carry out the activities, game materials, tournament prizes, and venue rental were needed. The result was two new gaming groups that now continue in the association's premises, which provides long-term benefits for both the participants and the local nerd culture.

About Up to us!

Micro-support is a smaller sum of money that is easier to apply for and quicker to get a response on. Up to us! is our special support for those aged 13-25 who, either individually or within their association, want to try something new and contribute to a more attractive countryside for other young people.

The Youth Agency's motivation: The decision-making group is positive about the project as it will create a new inclusive activity with a lower threshold for young people interested in card/board games. This creates a broader cultural offering for young people in the municipality.
