Who are we?

Leader Linné Småland is a non-profit association that works with rural development. Local companies and associations can apply for funding for their project ideas through us. The projects that receive support from us can be described as puzzle pieces that serve to create economic, social, cultural, and environmental development.

Geographically we cover the following municipalities: Alvesta, Älmhult, Markaryd, Ljungby, Värnamo, Sävsjö and Växjö.

Our board, LAG (Local Action Group), includes representatives from our area and from municipalities, associations and the business community. The funding we distribute stems from the EU, the state, and our member municipalities.

Our goals

The following are our goals, in our area, for the period of 2023-2027:

• For people to have a feeling of community and commitment through various efforts all year round

• Thriving businesses and entrepreneurial mindsets

• Accessible nature and sustainable living environments

• Good accessible services

About Leader

Leader is a method for rural development used throughout the EU. In Sweden, there are 40 Leader regions that all work according to local needs and conditions.

The basis of the Leader method is that people who live and work in an area are the ones best equipped to know the needs of that area. These are the kinds of ideas, initiated locally by residents, companies, organizations and groups, that we can support. In each project, there is an advantage to cooperation between non-profit, private and public sectors.

The projects should also be innovative and capable of rethinking that suits their geographical region.

Apply for funding

We currently have five areas of operation linked to our goals. This means projects must fit into one of the following categories in order to qualify for funding:

• Strategic collaborations with solutions that are new to the place

• Development and refining of goods, services and working methods

• Learning and competence development

• New meeting places and activities

• Attractive environments that provide improved health and well-being

Contact us if you have a project idea that would fit into any of the areas of operation and we will be happy to tell you more! It is also possible to apply for funding for feasibility/pilot studies. We also provide support on a smaller scale - so-called microgrants. These are for a smaller amount - and a faster decision. Get in touch with us to find out which microgrants are currently available.

Collaborations?

Are you interested in transnational collaborations? At Leader Linné Småland we have initiated, and been invited to participate in, various transnational projects over the years. We are always interested in discovering new perspectives and conducting exchanges of experience and we see immense value in collaborative work.
