Youth Board
Do you want to make your voice heard within Leader Linné and decide which ideas should receive funding from us? Then you can apply to our youth board!
What do you do?
Being part of our youth board means that you are involved in influencing the offerings for young people in rural areas. The main task is to participate in deciding on applications for the micro grant ”Up to us!”. You and the other members read the applications, discuss the ideas together, and are involved in making decisions about which projects should receive support.
To be able to participate, you must be between 13-25 years old and live in the municipalities of Alvesta, Ljungby, Markaryd, Sävsjö, Värnamo, Växjö, and Älmhult.
The assignment is compensated.
Other parts of the assignment may include:
- Participating in physical planning meetings.
- Accompanying project visits to those who have received micro grants.
- Informing or conducting workshops about Up to Us! and the Leader method.
- Being involved in international visits and exchanges, for example, we have traveled to Finland and Croatia.
- Visiting youth councils, associations, sections, or other youth groups.
- Representing Leader Linné at meetings, conferences, and other contexts.
- Being involved in developing the working methods of the youth board.
- Coming up with your own ideas about what the group should do in the future.
As a member of the youth board you do not need to participate in all activities. The idea is that it should be possible to engage based on how much time and interest one has. The main task is the decision meetings, while other activities are opportunities for those who want to and have time.
How do we work?
Decision meetings usually take place digitally (via Teams) and between meetings, the group communicates on Supertext or WhatsApp.
The youth board has its own project leader named Emilie, and her job is to receive applications, call for decision meetings, and support the group when needed.
The work of the youth board develops democratically together with the members. Therefore, there is room to influence both activities, working methods, and what role the youth board should have moving forward.
