We are looking for images and texts that capture what makes your place special – it can be old buildings, crafts, local dishes, music, or exciting stories from the past. Compete on your own or gather your neighbors and go on a treasure hunt for local gems!
The competition is open to everyone in the municipalities of Alvesta, Växjö, Ljungby, Älmhult, Markaryd, Värnamo, and Sävsjö.
Here's how to compete:
- Submit images along with a text that tells the story of your contribution and why this is part of your cultural heritage.
- Email your contribution by April 7th to info@leaderlinne.se.
- You can compete individually or in groups, and you can submit multiple contributions per locality.
- Read the full competition rules here: Competition Rules (PDF)
- Do you have questions? Contact info@leaderlinne.se.
Winners
The winners will be selected by a jury and notified by April 22nd. Winning contributions will be celebrated with an exhibition and a vernissage during Rural Week from May 5th to 11th. The date and location for the vernissage will be announced. The winning contributions will be printed as large boards with images and text, which the participants will also receive after the exhibition.
Do you need inspiration?
We want to find the gems of each locality and highlight what you are proud of – both big and small! For example, it could be: a particularly heavy farm stone, a feud with the neighboring town over who makes the right shape of pretzels, the community center's collection of antique irons, a mill by the river that ground flour for generations, the county's oldest preserved treehouse, legends about the unreadable runestone in the cow pasture, or a beautiful old train station… All cultural heritage is welcome to compete!
Welcome with your contribution!
The competition is organized by Leader Linné within the project ”Expedition Cultural Heritage,” which is a collaboration between Leader Linné Småland, the Adult Education Association Kronoberg, and Coompanion Kronoberg.
