Development of
semen station

The project will develop an existing semen station in Kronoberg County by building a professional facility for stallion collection and four guest boxes for mares.

About the project

The background is that the nearest stallion collection station in Tingsryd has closed down, which has created a significant need in the region. Through the project, stallion owners in the local area can collect stallions for semen and send it to other semen stations in Sweden. This leads to shorter transports, increased biodiversity, and improved working environment and disease control. The project strengthens local horse breeding and gives more breeders the opportunity to use semen, benefiting both the environment and horse welfare.

The board's motivation

LAG grants support as the project develops a local horse business with a service that is no longer offered in Kronoberg County. The project is innovative and well-founded, with a clear plan and implementation capacity. The investment makes it possible to offer more breeders in the region access to semen, which strengthens the business and local breeding.
