Up to us!

The project targets young people between 13 and 25 years old and aims to strengthen their ability to implement ideas that contribute to attractive places to live in the countryside. Young people should also be involved in decisions regarding their own micro-support for youth.

About the project

The project targets young people between 13 and 25 years old and aims to strengthen young people's ability to independently implement ideas that contribute to attractive places to live. An important part is that young people should also be involved in decisions concerning projects for youth.

The project has two main parts:

Inspire and coach – Through outreach activities and various events, the project meets the target group and supports them in developing their ideas. Those who wish to proceed receive guidance and coaching to apply for micro-support.

Decision group – Through an umbrella project, young people are offered the opportunity to apply for micro-support to realize their ideas. A decision group consisting of young people determines which project ideas receive support. Being part of the decision group means being involved in influencing the development in the Leader Linné Småland area.

Activities

Workshop with Teater16

The youth board gathered one day in Ljungby with Teater16, for a packed kickoff for the autumn of 2025 with team building, workshop, and lots of ideas for the future. The morning kicked off with team building led by Edvin and youth pilots Myles and Emmie from the Leader project ”Anchoring keys to youth engagement.”.

The board also received a tour of Lokal16 before it was time to roll up their sleeves again, and in the afternoon everyone moved into ”The Workshop” for a mini-workshop on evaluating project applications. After that, the youth board went directly on to process their five real applications for micro-support.

Activities

Workshop with Leader Linné's working committee

When different people meet – things happen! In November 2025, our youth board and our working committee gathered for a workshop with the goals of getting to know each other, strengthening communication, and exploring how we can collaborate better. During the day, we did exercises to build relationships and had discussions in smaller groups. Several of the questions were about how young people view the countryside and community life – important perspectives that need to be heard.

Activities

Study trip to Croatia

During the spring, the youth board traveled to Croatia for an international exchange within the project NextStop: Local. Together with young people from Sweden, Finland, and Croatia, the days were filled with study visits, workshops, and cultural exchanges focusing on rural development and youth participation. The trip provided lots of inspiration, new perspectives, and ideas to take home for the continued work. Check out all the great pictures here in the gallery!
