Food, cultural heritage
and preparedness

At Wieselgrensgården, a new learning environment is being developed where Småland's cultural heritage meets practical knowledge about food, raw materials, and everyday preparedness. Through experience-based courses, participants can follow the entire chain from cultivation to processing and sustainable cooking.

About the project

The project aims to develop Wieselgrensgården into a complete and food-approved educational learning environment where practical knowledge about food, raw materials, and household management is combined with Småland's cultural heritage. By creating a functional kitchen, developing educational materials, and conducting test courses, participants will be able to follow the entire chain from cultivation to cooking and processing.

The project strengthens local everyday preparedness, resource management, and self-sufficiency through experience-based learning that connects traditional methods such as drying, fermentation, and preservation with today's sustainability needs.

The board's motivation
LAG prioritizes the project because it strengthens local knowledge about cultivation, household management, and preparedness through practical learning. The project creates new meeting places through collaborations and offers activities that are lacking in the area. The project also strengthens local entrepreneurship.

Note that the Swedish Board of Agriculture makes the formal decision.
