The local cultural gold

SV Kronoberg sees a strong interest in local history and wants to strengthen the population's connection to the cultural heritage. The project will highlight the unique places, traditions, and crafts of the communities through workshops and experience exchange. A study guide will be developed to disseminate the methods further after the project's conclusion.

About the project

The project aims to preserve, document, and spread the local cultural heritage in Kronoberg County. Through activities such as village safaris, workshops, and international exchanges, knowledge about historical sites, crafts, and traditions will be made available to both the local population and visitors. The project engages community centers, local heritage centers, handicrafts, and Destination Småland. The goal is to strengthen pride and identity in the communities, promote cultural tourism, and create new opportunities for entrepreneurship. The project combines traditional methods with modern technology such as film, podcasts, and digital guides.

The local cultural treasure is also part of the local initiative ”Expedition Cultural Heritage” – which consists of three different projects that share the purpose of preserving cultural heritage in Småland. These are run individually by Leader Linné Småland (Cultural Villages), the Adult Education Association Kronoberg (The Local Cultural Treasure), and Coompanion Kronoberg (Cultural Heritage Power).
