The forgotten forest

Huseby Bruk wants to create an outdoor classroom in the area ”Forgotten Forest”; a pristine forest environment that is now being opened up as part of the new Knowledge Center for forest and water

About the project

Huseby Bruk wants to create an outdoor classroom in the area ”Forgotten Forest”; a pristine forest environment that is now being opened up as part of the new Knowledge Center for forest and water. Here, children, youth, academia, and visitors will get to experience nature up close and learn about forest, water, and sustainable development. Through the site, the history of Huseby Bruk is connected with a new meeting place for learning, inspiration, and collaboration between school, business, and civil society.

The board's motivation

The project highlights the value of the forest as a resource, learning environment, and meeting place – with a particular focus on reaching new target groups.
By creating new ways to learn about and in nature, the project also strengthens learning and inclusion in rural areas.

Note that the Swedish Board of Agriculture makes the formal decision.
